Tom: your intro.
Draft for you to change or replace: An Article 78 proceeding (Civil Practice Law and Rules, Article 78) asks the Supreme Court to review a decision by a state or local agency, board or officer: for example the denial or revocation of a pistol permit, a parole or prison disciplinary decision, or a license revocation after an administrative hearing. The court asks whether the decision was arbitrary, unlawful or unsupported by the evidence. The deadline is short, usually four months from the final decision.
